ThinkStick Firmware for Z-Wave PC SDK

There are two options for firmware when using the ThinkStick with the Z-Wave PC SDK:

    Installer Firmware (for portable PCs)
Highest performance, but unable to receive routed commands from other devices.  This is useful for portable devices and is the default.

Static Controller Firmware (for stationary PCs)
Can receive routed commands from other devices.  Use this firmware when you need to be able to get SceneActivated events in response to scene controllers or you need to be able to get LevelChanged events in response to "virtual 3-way" or other scenarios.  If you need to get automatic device synchronization from devices (sometimes referred to as "live status"), you need this firmware.

I have attached a ZIP file with both firmware update files to this message.  Please note that most of the advanced features of ThinkEssentials (Professional Edition) require the Installer firmware.

To reflash the ThinkStick with downloaded firmware

    1. Launch ThinkStick Update and plug your ThinkStick into any available USB port
    2. Press Alt+F to pop up the File menu
    3. Click the "Load Update File..." menu option and select the downloaded CTU file
    4. Check the box next to the ThinkStick you'd like to update
    5. Click the Update button

If you switch firmware type (e.g. from static controller to installer or vice-versa), you should factory reset your ThinkStick to ensure that other devices know of the firmware update.  WARNING: factory resetting ThinkStick will reset all network information.  Do not factory reset ThinkStick if it belongs to an existing network.

Which version comes on the stick when you purchase the SDK?

    Thanks,

All ThinkSticks ship with Z-Wave v4.22 or later.  Sometimes we're able to update the sticks to the latest firmware during shipping--so many of our customers have received Z-Wave v4.25 as well.

Currently we ship all ThinkSticks with the "installer" firmware by default.  This is required for many of the advanced features in ThinkEssentials Professional Edition.

With 4.27 out, is there still two firmwares? If so where can I find the Static Controller Firmware (for stationary PCs firmware?

    Yes, 4.27 is a bugfix for v4.20->v4.26.  v4.30 is a separate Z-Wave branch.

Yes. But is there still an installer firmware and a static firmware? (aka for 4.27) If so where can I find 4.27 static.
