Re: ThinkEssentials Pro Extras -- what would you like?
Command line control of scenes and devices would be great. Also, conditional activation of scenes through the command line would be nice. For example: I start playing a DVD and I would want to turn off lights in my family room. Likewise I would want to turn them back on when I stop the DVD but only if it is after dusk.
I would like to see this in the "standard" edition unless of course I could get the pro edition for free :).

Craig,
Great feedback. Are you running Media Center by any chance?

Chris,
I am waffling back and forth at the moment between Media Center and BeyondTV for PVR use but I use a standalone DVD player. However, this would be very useful in the Media Center context. I would personally use it with Girder such that I could detect the IR command for play of my DVD player within Girder and then run the command line command for ThinkEssentials if it existed.

The new Z-wave multisensor the HSM100 that is apparently only now apparently supported by other software, is certainly one item that I would like to see full support for (not sure how proprietary the device is) but having support for a device that gives us PIR, temperature, and light sensing would be great. Didn't know wether to post this on the "Pro" or basic ThinkEssentials side, but I'm sure there will be interest no matter which.

Re: ThinkEssentials Pro Extras -- what would you like?
mdiehl,
Is it a Z-Wave Certified device? I haven't seen one yet--and they're apparently out of stock. If we can get one in and it's a Z-Wave Certified device (and not just a device using a Z-Wave chip), we'll be happy to support it either mostly or fully.
It sounds like it has a battery meter in it and a few sensors. The battery support is easy, and the others shouldn't be difficult.

I'm not sure if this is already available or not, but I would like it if there were an internet ThinkControl service that ran on my PC as well. In other words, if I could go to a secure website, type in a username and password, then have a diagram of my house pull up with the ability to control devices that would be great. Perhaps not even a website, but a client would work just as well. Aside from my mobile device, I also have a laptop that has mobile broadband and it would be neat to be able to control everything from that whereever I am.

Townshend,
The ThinkConnect service we announced back in March will let you access your home via the Internet. We have a few surprises in store I can't share here, but will share more in the coming months as we conclude development on the platform.

Chris,
Sounds great! Is there an ETA on when the ThinkConnect service will be available? Also, if you need any beta testers I'm available.
Best,
Walter

primary controller shift back and forth between your software and a handheld along with diagnostic software along with a dbase of multiple networks for storage. i believe you may have both already included though.

I would like to see a feature in the Standard Edition (as well as Pro) that would allow one to regulate devices based on an offset from sunrise/sunset. e.g., turn off lights NN minutes after sunrise and turn them on NN minutes before sunset.

Re: ThinkEssentials Pro Extras -- what would you like?
How about the ability to import already existing floor plan images as a background instead of having to re-draw them?
I like the current interface but what about doing some thing like below with multiple views.
Floorplan view: shows the whole floor with Icons for devices/status Room view (Click on Room): shows all the devices in the room with textual status (on/off/level) for each Detailed view (Click on Device): shows all the information available for the device (name, node id, manufacturer, model, status/level, signal, associated devices, etc.) as well as controls for On/Off/Level, etc.

Barry--the "import floorplan" feature is in 2.0 Pro-edition. The other ideas are great, and have been duly noted :)
