    ZWave Starter Kit For Europe

Is the availability of a ZWave starter kit to a European spec. getting any closer?

    Thanks,

    Clive

It gets closer every day, by about a day :)

Seriously though, we're working on three possibilities. This has not slipped our minds, and we hope to have a European kit in the near future.

    Hi Chris,

Has there been any activity on the European starter kit or is it still sometime in the future?

    Hi Cramer,

We had commitments on European USB and/or RS232 hardware, and are unfortunately still waiting on them. We hope to have this as soon as possible, but unfortunately I don't have any dates at this time :(

    Thank you for your patience,

    Chris

Any update on the european version? Or is there an alternative that will work with the SDK?

    echaudron,

Another one of our forum members is using the ACT HomePro European USB controller as an alternative...

Do you now have an idea as to when you will have a European starter kit available that you have tested with the SDK?

    Hi cramer,

The European ACT USB/RS232 controllers should work with the SDK--but we're still waiting on a "package" solution :(

    Cramer,

I bought a ACT unit from www.letsautomate.com and got it in, in about 2 days (the netherlands). This works ok with the software. The only thing I did not test is the range of the ACT unit since my hardware is not supported (yet). You have to be fast because the only have 1 in stock.

    Ciao Heubie

As I haven't heard anything I guess there is still no commitment to a European starter kit, or are there some firm release dates now set for this equipment?

    Hi cramer,

At this point, we are just waiting for a European USB dongle that we can bundle with the SDK and that meets our quality standards. There are at least three in the works right now, so I'm really hoping that we'll be able to ship a European SDK this year...

Are the suppliers of the dongle giving you any idea as to when they are likely to ship?

    cramer,

We expect to have a few options shipping Q3 and/or Q4. Some have already completely first-runs, but we have to test and qualify the devices before we're comfortable bundling them with our products...

That sounds a bit more promising. Keep me posted.

    Hi Chris,

I have noticed some significant activity around European components recently. How are things going regarding a validated starter kit for Europe?
