Is the SDK delivered as a Windows dynamic library (.DLL)?

The reason I ask is that I am designing a Linux-based Z-Wave daemon and web-based configuration program that will act as a full featured Z-Wave controller running on linux servers. I'm not concerned with the physical layer (USB or Serial interface) as I can write my own drivers for this. But I would need some way to access the SDK, such as delivering it as a linux glibc static library or some other mechanism.

Does such a product exist or is planned for the future?

Thanks for your interest.  The Z-Wave PC SDK is .NET based.  There are versions for Windows CE as well as 98/ME/2000/XP/2003/Vista, and we're working on a Linux (Mono) version.  Our biggest dependency there is the new release of Mono which will have serial port support.

I would like to integreate the z-wave SDK into an existing pure C application, will Mono allow this?

I'm not 100% sure what kind of interop Mono supports. You can probably find out more on their website, http://www.go-mono.com.

We're running almost 100% on Windows (XP/Vista/XPe/CE) around here...

We're now looking into the driver situation to get a USB stick running on Linux. We have a test machine here dedicated to the task--and will probably simultaneously release the Mono version of the SDK alongside the new v2.0 release... Hopefully a bit later this year.

do you plan to sell you usb stick alone (european market) ?

Will it works with plutohome ?
or with custon python scripts ?
or only with mono and your SDK ?

The Z-Wave PC SDK is .NET-based, as is Mono--so the SDK will be designed for Mono on Linux and Mac OS X.

As far as the USB sticks go, different software companies support different USB sticks. We try to support as many of them as possible, so that you can create great solutions using the SDK and the USB sticks...

If there's enough interest, we could definitely make a Python bridge.

Trying to decide between this or the Vizia RF serial adapter, which already has limited support through MisterHouse.

Does the SDK now come with some Linux support either in the form of Mono or Java?  In the posts I read that this was expected with the new version, but there has been no specific news about its release.
