I'm interested in purchasing the SDK. However, I do not see the product at ASI Home's website. Is the SDK still available to purchase online?

The SDK is no longer available for purchase. You can download v1.3 or higher and use it for free as long as you use a ControlThink ThinkStick.

I don't yet have the controlThink ThinkStick but I plan on purchasing it as soon as I have the sdk.

If you purchased it before they stopped selling license keys and have a key, you can use the devices listed. If you do not have a key, you MUST use a ThinkStick.

Kind of goes against the whole premise of Z-Wave, that the devices can all work with one another, but the SDK will only support one brand. I hope that choice is reconsidered and this 2-tiered licensing is eliminated, and other brands opened up to hobbyists.

It still supports all Z-Wave devices, you just have to use it with their stick. Since they are now giving it away for FREE, they have the right to put resctrictions on it.

I can understand why a free version would be restricted. But were they not enough people who were willing to pay for support for other controllers? Why not offer the option? Free version for ControlThink only, paid version for other controller support? I ordered the Control Think stick, it seemed a reasonable price (~$50) but would've rather spent that sum for an SDK that could use my existing controller.
