    Setup Instructions

Here's a brief overview of how to set up the installer tools package.

After downloading the ZIP file, extract it to wherever you'd like it to live that is NOT the same directory as ThinkEssentials.   The DLLs, while being named the same, are not cross-compatibile.  Each program (Installer Tools and ThinkEssentials) knows which DLL to use, so as long as they're not in the same directory, you won't have problems.  Run  RemoteBackup.exe (the only supported tool at this time) to use to program.  Again, be sure that it's in the same directory as the DLLs that shipped with it.

Installer Tools will run on Windows XP and newer, just like ThinkEssentials.   It is a Windows-only program, there is no support for other operating systems.   It has no command line parameters.

When you run it, it requires Version 2.3 of the firmware for the hand controller?  I just recently upgraded and mine did not work.  Leviton website shows 2.25 (unless they are bad at naming files).

The Vizia team hasn't releaesd the new version yet, as it's still in a testing cycle.  However, you can get the beta here:

Thanks.  Think I'll wait.  Using two "betas" at one time sounds too risky.  However, the idea of having backup capabilities for the remotes is really good.  SJ

That's understandable. As soon as the firmware is released, I'll be sure to post here about it.
