Master Controller doesn't recognize one device on one specific channel

My Master Controller doesn't recognice my in wall dimmer on channel 4.  It adds it to the channel, but then "searches" for it for a long time before saying on/off is "unsucsesfull".  HOWEVER, IT DOES turn the light on/off - but only after a very long time.

Addiding the module to any other channel is usually "sucsesfull".

     Any thoughts?

    Thanks

My guess is that another device is also on that channel.  Remove the one that's working and see if it's still searching.  If so, clear out that channel and re-add the working one.

Thanks, I'm not sure how to clear out one channel without going to each module and deleting it.  But, of course that also means knowing all the modules I might have added.

Is there a way to clear out one channel (other than mentioned above)?  Thanks

I'm having the same symptoms on a pair of Leviton Vizia RF 15A non-dimmers which control my porch & post light out front.

Turning on the lights involves waiting for the full 60 seconds of "Transmitting" flashing.  Simultaneously with the "Not Successful" indicator coming on, it succedes in turning on both switches (the two of them comprise Channel 1 on my HA07).

Pressing off on channel 1 turns them off instantly, but the "Transmitting" indicator keeps flashing 60 seconds after the lights are off, again followed by a false "Not Successful."

I tried Chris's suggestion of removing from channel & deleting altoghther and then readding them one at a time & testing at every stage, but nothing works.

     Any other Ideas out there?

I'm not sure if this is the same problem as I've had in the past, but I had similar symptoms.  My problem I belive was centered on the suggestion in the instructions to delete a module before moving it anywhere else in the house, or between channels or controllers.  It may be a pain, but what I did was to start fresh, someone told me that my problem was a corrupt routing table or something to that affect.  After wiping the network clean, deleteing the modules and starting over everything worked great and still does.

Unless you want to try maybe one of those USB sticks that has the option in software to optimize or clean up the router table.  If I am off in my terminology I apologize, but I think I have communicated what helped me.

I'm assuming that you are using the HA07 as your primary controller because you are referring to "channels."  If this is correct, the reason for the long wait-times could be that the HA07 does NOT have the "discover neighbor" feature built in.  So it takes a long time for the signal to make it's way around without a faster route being provided to it.  Some controllers use "optimize the network" to do the same thing, which is to add additional routing options, but Intermatic didn't include the feature in HA07 to "cut costs."  ThinkEssentials, Z-Tool, Leviton, Cooper, etc. provide this faster option in their more expensive controllers.  And once you use these products to "optimize the network," you can copy this routing information back into the HA07 to make the HA07 faster.  I use this procedure often for my clients who only want to purchase the simple, inexpensive HA07 controller and put-it-on-a-shelf for automated event control of their home devices.

Another problem that can cause the "unsuccessful" message is Intermatic had a problem with some shipments of Z-wave devices that could only receive commands and events but could NOT transmit replies back to the controller.  Intermatic has resolved this problem and is now shipping the non-defective products.

    Hope this helps.
