Have you ever seen all red question marks?

I did an installation for a customer using ThinkEssentials and I am constantly having an issue where all the icons in think essentials are marked with a red question mark. However, a simple restart of the software brings everything back in line. This happens about every 2 days in a network of 40+ devices.

For troubleshooting purposes I am wondering if any of you have ever seen all your device icons turn into red question marks.

For comparison I am using all 600 Watt ViziaRF switches and a few 1000 watt Vizia RF Switches along with the ThinkStick.

    Squintz,

I have a similar network.  TE with a thinkstick on a network of ~20 devices, almost all Vizia RF, mostly 600 and 1000 watt dimmers, a few switches.  I've had a situation where TE shows _mostly_ red question marks, but not all red question marks.  Usually it's due to a burnt out bulb off a critical dimmer circuit, so restarts don't help.  Replacing the bulb helps. :)

This is a great example of where I would love to be able to visually see the route map for my network.  In the example where all devices go to question marks the problem could simply be that the PC (HA22?) has only one route to all the devices.  If that route (or the 1st device in the route) is disabled then isn't the whole network disabled?  As I understand the zwave network does not repair or optimize on its own - It needs a push.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

I have this problem all the time....

Closing (exiting) the application and restarting it solves it.

Since I travel a lot without remote access to the PC, this is a major draw-back. I would love to find a solution....

I have tried different versions of firmware on the think-stick and different versions of ThinkEssential. Currently I'm running the latest betas of both.

I have also played around with the location of the think-stick.....still happens.

I'm thinking that there is some RF interference in the house that is causing this intermittently...?!

    twolap,

Could you please e-mail or PM me some details about your network?  This seems to be a reproducible issue, just not here in the lab...
