    Re: ThinkStick Update 1.0.3 (beta)

So I just got the ThinkStick and was trying to set it up with my WHS box and an HA05 outdoor light socket adapter and mControl. I got the controller installed ok and was able to get the device to be recognized (although at first I had it outside and it would not see it, I had to bring it inside near the ThinkStick and then it worked). Once setup, mControl was able to recognize the state it was in and turn it on and off fine. Then I moved it back outside (maybe 25 feet away from where the WHS box is). At that point things got flakey. I was able to get it to turn on, but then it wouldn't turn off. I checked the polls, and they had started to fail. I guess maybe its too far away? Anyway, then I saw this beta update and decided to give it a try (based on the "enhanced network performance" item in the changelog). I flashed the new firmware and tried setting up everything all over again from scratch. I got the controller recognized and the device configured ok. However, now no matter what I do I cannot get it to turn it on or off, even when I bring it back inside and put it right next to the ThinkStick. Bleah. Can you help? If I sound like I might know a little nit about what I'm doing, I don't. So treat me as a total n00b in your reply. Thanks.

    rlcronin,

Go ahead and "downgrade" to the 4.27 firmware for now if you need to use software other than ThinkEssentials 2.1 or software based on the Z-Wave PC SDK 1.3 or newer.  We're working with our OEM partners to get their support updated, but I believe that the particular software you mentioned is still working on an update.

[Be sure to uninstall the newer beta version before installing the older 1.0.2 release of ThinkStick Update.]
