I'm having difficulty typing without drooling on my keyboard.
Is the "hop count" the number of hops from the pertinent device to the ThinkEssentials' controller?
Is the "hop count" constantly updated? If I move the ThinkEssentials computer around the house, will the hop counts shift around?
I will probably have to do whatever is required to keep the sensors awake during hop count mode.
I might want to tear my network apart again, add only the sensors, add one wired device at a time, and with ThinkEssentials running in my basement wiring closet, use the hop count's fuel gauge to see which wired devices are the most reliable routing nodes to my sensors. Then I'll see if I can use that information to generate reliable return routes from a minimal network. Or is that process all going to be automated?
Better yet, I could start with a full network, and see what the effect is on the fuel gauges as I delete each wired device.
Sounds like I'll need to take a day off work this week so I can tinker when my wife isn't around. She hates my constant Z-Waving.
I want to see if covering the switch plate with a grounded sheet of aluminum foil effectively takes that device out of the route.
