    Add Device

I've got an 88 Node zwave network, all Vizia RF. My primary controller is RZCPG. I finally downloaded TE 2.1 (Build 1) Beta for support of the 4 button scene and zone controllers. I've also upgraded from an HA22 to a Control stick that I've loaded the 4.25 firmware onto. I cannot seem to add the controlstick to the the RZCPG. I'm selecting "add node" on the RZCPG and "add device" in TE. I think this is the correct procedure, however neither device sees the other and both time out. Any ideas what I may be doing wrong? Thanks, Pete

You need to "join network" instead; go to the Settings tab and click on "Switch to (or join) another network."

    Re: Add Device

I've made TE the primary controller. I thought that I'd be able to modify my vizia scene and zone controller settings. I cannot do this. Also, I cannot see the properties of the various devices. Is this because I imported them from the RZCPG, rather than adding them with TE? Is there a way to use the RZCPG to add devices after I've set TE to be the primary controller? It will still ad devices, but I cannot figure out how to get those devices into TE. I've got one wall switch I forgot to add that is a long way from my desktop that is running TE. A couple of observations regarding the beta, I suspect these are bugs you are aware of. On my machine, the TE pane in the TE window jumps sometimes when I am working. It is distracting, but doesn't seem interfere with the operation of TE. When I add scene and zone controllers to scenes and zones, TE grinds to a halt and eats up my processor when I try to activate these scenes or zones. It stops responding and I need to end task it. Maybe these shouldn't be allowed to be added to scenes/zones. Status is intermittent or wrong. It seems to work that when I manually change a device state that the state in TE follows. However, today when I went to my monitor TE was showing lights as on that had been turned off 9 hours before. My polling interval is set to 5 minutes. Setting up schedules is straight forward, except for one thing. It is unclear how to select days. Are all days default selected or un-selected? Is dark blue enabled or not? I'm not sure whether I am selecting or deselecting days. At any rate, with all days set to dark blue, a schedule failed to run this am. Perhaps, after changing all to light blue, it will run tomorrow. Overall, I am really liking the Thinkstick and the 2.1 TE. Thanks, Pete

    Re: Add Device

    ClubChapin,

If you make your PC primary, you need to transfer primary role back to the serial adapter if you're going to use it as primary.  Then, transfer it back to the PC if/when you want the PC to be primary.

Vizia RF zone/scene setup is a 2.1 feature.  We're working on it :)

On the zone/scene activation bug, there was a bug which would cause the issue you're seeing; it's been fixed in the latest 2.1 beta (posted in the beta forum).

Thank you very much for your feedback,

    Chris

    Re: Add Device

Thanks. I don't think my Leviton controller supports handing primary control back and forth. No worries, I've found a USB extender that allows me to run around the house with my thinkstick connected to my desktop PC. Will stand by for the vizia features. It will be nice for programming my 4 button controllers. I am running the 2.1 build1 beta. Found it at the top of this forum (I think this is the beta forum). Thanks again, having fun setting this up! Pete
