    ThinkStick vs Z-troller?

I am currently still building my system and although beating my head on a wall half the time trying to get everything to work how I wnt it too. My big question now since I am new is what will work better and be better in the future. Do I want to replace my HA22 with a ThinkStick or a Z-Troller? I currently have a HA07 and 2 HA09's right now only a few switches 3 outdoor relays and 2 indoor relays. I am struggling to find the automation software to give me what I want and not put me in the poor house either. I am testing right now Homeseer and CQC. Homeseer seems to do what I want as in communicating great with my Zwave stuff but is buggy with a lot of the plugins I have tried. CQC on the other hand is great but communicates poorly with my Zwave stuff half the time dropping communication. I assume it has to do with the drivers that they use since each one uses a different one. But all in all I think I just went into all my questions but back to the start what I need to know is what will be best for me in the future the Thinkstick or the Z-Troller? Pros/Cons of each? I know I want something that will be most flexible, upgradeable aswell and also communicate the best. Ok well this is a start I have tons of questions and this forum seems to be the best geared towards Zwave compared to the others I have been on so please all offer advice, suggestions and if you can please let me know what you are using. thanks in advance MK

    midknight,

If you're looking for a USB stick for your PC, go with the ThinkStick.  It's firmware upgradable, high-speed Z-Wave, and only $39.95 MSRP.  It's also compatible with Windows XP, 2003, Vista, and 2008 (including 64-bit editions).

If you're looking for a more expensive device for desktop use that you can unplug from your desktop to add/remove devices, and which uses a serial port connection, something like the Z-Troller may be the choice for you.

Please note that we're working on a number of new benefits for ThinkStick--so the value in having one is just going to continue increasing.  It really is the premier Z-Wave USB adapter on the market.

It's cool that Z-Troller can be standalone, Serial? Yuck!  It also requires an extra power cable. [:'(]

I recently upgraded to Vista x64, so my Home Settings z-wave adapter no longer works.  I think I will be investing in a ThinkStick soon. Big Smile
