    What does this mean??

    Hi chris

Today, while navigating this forum, I have visited the http://forums.controlthink.com/p/912/3750.aspx#3750

where there is a mention for a plot of power usage. Can you tell me what does that mean? If to some extent whatever I am getting from it is: Let say I have one 300Watt HA03 module added to the z-wave network using control think SDK. Does the plot of power usage is a graphical representation showing power consumption per day/week/month or whatever time unit is. Is this right? Also can we calculate any saving in terms of power from this plot? Please suggest and correct wherever you seems appropriate. Also does this plot making use of powerline monitoring or directly asking the module for power consumption?

Does the power frequency has anything to do here? The controller is HA22.

Also does there exists any such feature in control think sdk that we can use to make such kind of plot?

    Arnie,

We haven't seen any Z-Wave devices shipping today which include power-consumption-monitoring functionality.

How about devices NOT shipping today but perhaps sitting on your test bench, hiding under a black velvet cloth?

Portus Home has gone silent, but now 4HomeMedia is making a lot of noise about power monitoring and so were the Danes at the European Home Control Summit.  We can probably conclude from all this noise that working prototypes exist with working software to back them.

I don't know of any other software company that develops Z-Wave interface tools for Microsoft OSs, so I have to assume that ControlThink is in the thick of the discussion with anyone who claims to be rolling out a Windows-based application with Z-Wave power monitoring capabilities.

I can imagine that it would be fun to work for ControlThink and have access to devices-not-shipping-today (and SDK power monitoring enhancements not shipping today), but it would be awfully difficult to keep quiet about it.
