    Controller Access

    Chris,

I have purchased a European Seluxit USB controller for evaluation. The SDK is unable to find it. I have used the Seluxit test software which does locate the device so it is working. Is there any way I can narrow down the problem or are there specific questions I should ask of Seluxit?

     Regards,

     Cramer

    Hi cramer,

Do you have virtual serial port drivers for the device?  Alternatively, could you have someone there send me a communication spec to integrate "autodetect" support into the SDK?

    Chris,

Seluxit have made the comments below

They are more than happy to communicate with you direct to get the issue resolved. The contact is Daniel Lux at daniel@seluxit.com

Our device does come up as a virtual port.
If the SDK detects the devices based on USB Vendor Id and USB Product Id, you can tell them the following values:
    Vendor ID: 16C0
    Product ID: 06EB

    cramer,

If it's a virtual serial port, look in Device Manager > Ports for the COM # and then just pass that in as a string.

    ex: ZWaveController.Connect("COM3").

    That worked fine.

With the controller I have a Seluxit  mult sensor which delivers temeprature, humidity, and lux. Can you point me to documentation / examples that show me how to declare the funtionality of the sensor so that I can request the values from it.

    Cramer,

Could you point me out to the sensor product so we can get one to test?  I believe that may require the upcoming "2.0" SDK...

    Re: Controller Access

    Chris,

Contact Daniel Lux  at daniel@seluxit.com (www.seluxit.dk)  He is aware that you may contact him and they are interested in having their products supported by third party software. You will probably need their Multi_Sensor and USB controller if you don't have a European frequency controller.

When will Version 2 of the SDK be available?

    Cramer,

We don't have a ship date on the "gen2" SDK yet, but I'll keep everyone posted.  Thank you for Daniel's contact info; we'll follow up...

    Chris,

Can you provide me with the name of any European components that I can use with the current version of the toolkit  e.g. power plugs  This will also allow me to check compatibility with the Seluxit controller.

    Re: Controller Access

    cramer,

You should be able to do basic control of any Z-Wave Certified device (such as turning lights on/off), control thermostats, etc.

Merten, ACT, and a number of other companies are making EU products...
