Z-Wave PC SDK To use with?

    Hello,

Is it possible to use the Z-Wave PC SDK (+USB dongle) with an develop board?
I use for mine developing a PAN8550 Develop board and want to make some software.
So I have to know if the USB dongle can speak with every other z-wave hardware object.

     Regards,
    Paul

    P-au-L,

The Z-Wave PC SDK is designed to be interoperable with third-party products.  If you build a hardware device that is Z-Wave compliant, we try to support it.  Most devices are supported out-of-the-box, since Z-Wave has interoperability built-in.

So if I build a product on the Panasonic PAN8550 with a zwave module ZW0201, i can use your USB dogle and Z-wave C# Library.

So i can program the developboard as a light and send messages with the USB dogle to the Developboard (Light).

    P-au-L,

From what you're describing, you should be good to go.  Just make sure that your light is a "BinarySwitch" or "MultilevelSwitch" type of device.

But then it's only possible to change one dimming light.

But i have 3 led lights in one lamp is this also possible with the z-wave C# library?

For school project types of purposes, you could create a "multi-instance" dimmer, with 4 "instances" (note: requires 2.0 alpha SDK):

Instance #1: Dim level (controlled by standard remote)
    Instance #2: Red
    Instance #3: Green
    Instance #4: Blue

You could also use three Z-Wave chips, and control each one individually.  Or use the "bridge firmware" capability--where your device acts as four different devices but is actually just one chip.

I have an RGB LED lamp in my living room and love changing its colors wirelessly.  I'd love to see an official profile for RGB lightsin Z-Wave...

So I can buy 2 zwave usb adapter and let them talk to each other?
One is looking as a lamp (rgb) the other is an sender. So 2 usb adapters are speaking with each other

Is it possible that i can get the 2.0 alpha SDK?
