Any plans for this?

    Any plans for this?

I have an old laptop that I gutted and transformed into a digital picture frame.  As of now, I had to install a full OS to run a slideshow of photos.  It would be great if a full OS didn't need to be installed, but instead just some basic software that pull photos from a network location and displays them on the laptop.  Will ThinkRemote provide any sort of answers for this scenerio?

Also, any idea how long it takes to get an invite for the beta?  I signed up a long time ago and haven't heard anything back.

    docmattman,

We're playing with the ida of a generic CE client; if we put that together there are a lot of possibilities...

Hopefully you'll get your invite soon.  We get more signups every day, so it may take a while to get you in--although we're pushing as hard as we can...

docmattman: Aside from the laptop you've used already, have you looked at the iMate Momento line?  I own one and it's been great so far.  In fact, it'll be setup to a Z-Wave on/off to turn it off at night to conserve energy, just waiting for another adapter to arrive.

PS.  I'm still waiting to get on board the beta program as well :-)  Been a bit that I even went out and bought the Hawking unit and subsequently returned (to control the z-wave network via my mobile device).  I have a feeling this product will be worth the wait though.
