I did. I'm running about twice as fast (half second to execute commands to nearby lights when it used to take one, 1-2 seconds when it used to take 3-4 to turn on/off far away lights on the edges of my network).

    Should this upgrade ANY ThinkStick?

Is this supposed to update any ThinkStick? It doesn't see my beta version stick. ThinkStick Update runs but lists no devices.

Think Essentials works fine on the stick using the PC in question. I tried ThinkStick Update on a different PC -- same behavior.

That may very well be due to the new reduced-overhead routing.  When you have "silent acknowlegment" devices in your network, this new feature basically cuts the routing overhead in half for routes going through those devices.

Just curious--which brands of devices do you have in your network?

I'm glad you're liking the update.  Thanks for using ThinkStick!

Yes, all ThinkSticks are updatable--even beta ones.  There's a special procedure for beta sticks: I just e-mailed you the instructions.

All production ThinkSticks (i.e. ordered through our website) are detected by ThinkStick Update automatically.  It's completely "plug and play."

Thanks. The procedure works perfectly. Your response was fast and accurate.

Is there a list of devices that have that feature ?

As most of my devices are older in my opinion, yet I see a large improvement in speed.
When Think Essentials is first opened all my device are now updated very fast within ~5 seconds for my 60+ devices.
And the update does not seem to hang on devices that do not respond right away.

I can turn on and off my intermatic appliance modules as fast as I can click now.

    StevenE,

We've actually put quite a few speed improvements into both the ThinkStick and ThinkEssentials--and they work best when they're together.  So it's not surprising that you're seeing speed increases across the board...

Regarding a list of "silent acknowledgment" capable devices, we don't have a complete list here...  I believe the newer Vizia RF devices implement this feature, and a lot of other manufacturers have implemented it too.

I'm up and running now. I had a corrupted data file in ThinkEssentials which was causing my problems. Everything seems to be working well now.

..well..not totally Plug n Play.  Just installed the ThinkStick tonight, tested through TE 2.1, everything works great.  Downloaded the firmware update but nothing is showing on the list.  Any thoughts?

Did you close down ThinkEssentials first?  If an application is using it, it won't show up in ThinkStick Update.

Also, did I send you a first-run ThinkStick?  If so, I may have forgotten to register it for you first.

It was the first one.  Had TE running.  Once I closed that it updated flawlessly.  Thanks Chris!
