    Simple schedule is not working

    Hello,

I've been testing out z-wave for several weeks now.  At the beginning I had one appliance module running a lamp being controlled by HA22 with a very simple "on at 7:30pm" and "off at 11pm" schedule.  Everything went on and off correctly.  In learning that the HA22 has to be super close to the units to learn them I purchased a HA09 and transfered the control over to it (this did not go smoothly and eventually started from scratch).  At this point I have the ha09 controlling the lamp with no problems (on and off). Thinkessentials sees the module and I have created  a zone and scene and one again a simple time shedule but the lamp is not responding to the schedule.  When I enter the Thinkessential software I see the module with a red circle and line through it.  What does this mean?

    thanks,

    Jim

    Hi Jim,

The red circle/slash means that ThinkEssentials could not communicate with the device.  This either means that there isn't a good path to get to the device (either directly or hopping through other devices) or you have a bad antenna in your device or USB stick.  How far is your PC from the device?  Any Z-Wave device?

Also, is your USB stick plugged directly into your computer, or is it on an extension cable away from metal objects?

     Chris,

The Intermatic HomeSetting module is in the same room as the computer with the usb stick.  I'd say about fifteen feet away.  I have the usb stick on the extension cord and sitting on top of my computer case.  It was like this before when it was working better.  I'm not sure if it got turned over or not or if there is a better side to project the radio waves.  Since you mentioned the meaning of the red circle with the line through it I have moved the usb stick higher to a shelf and have it vertical with the green light facing out.  I'll see if this solves the problem.

    thanks,

    Jim
