    New ThinkRemote "Community Edition"

Just FYI, we just introduced the new Community Edition of ThinkRemote.  This new edition adds support for iPhone/iPod Touch, Windows Mobile, Nintendo DS/Wii, PSP/PS3, etc.  Very cool.

If any of our regular beta-testers would like to be on the beta, I might be able to sneak you into one of their earlier invite rounds...  We also have a simultaneous "private beta" going on, where we test out new UIs, features, etc.

I just found out about the sideshow feature and I am very excited to use it. The problem is: I dont have any device to support it. Then I found this website offering a beta program that allows windows mobile devices to be compatible. I would really like to test this with my Moto Q. I also can test the Nintendo DS functionality as well. I am just wondering when the tests will begin and if it was at all possible to try this out soon. Thank you.

    t_0_0_l,

    Welcome to the forums!

We're pretty excited about the new SideShow support in ThinkRemote Community Edition.  If you'd like to participate in the beta, please sign up here right now:

We'll be adding people to the beta based on platform and "computer skill level" as we go.  There's a ton going on there, and we'd love to have you on board.

I already went ahead and signed up before posting. I listed myself as intermediately skilled as I know hardware like the back of my hand and can do all the basics with my eyes closed, but I haven't programmed much. I guess to the average person, I'm in expert in computers, but I didn't want to get to overzealous in case you were looking for certified experts. Either way, I take it you already have begun beta testing it. In case this is important, I do have previous experience in beta testing games. Again, thanks for the reply, and I hope I can help get this program to gold.

Are there, or are there any plans, for a remote control to have support for ThinkRemote.  I've started doing research into more SideShow enabled devices and came across the Philips SRM 7500, but not sure if you can set that up to also work with ThinkRemote.

Plans, yes.  Not shipping quite yet, but we're working with a number of OEMs...

You seem to be pretty on top of the SideShow market.  Are there any keyboards that have SideShow support that are also Bluetooth?  I saw the G15, but was looking for something wireless as well.

Sorry, not sure on the keyboards.  Thanks for your interest in our SideShow-enabled products, though; hopefully we can get you involved soon!

Looks like an awesome technology.  I just purchased an XPS 420 from Dell which has the Sideshow LCD at the top of the PC.  Looking to see what else can be done.  Would be great to have a remote similiar to my Logitech Harmony 890 Pro that will control everything with Sideshow on the LCD to view information and control lights/hvac via that instead of the z-wave functionality that is currently in there.

Lots of interest, lots of work being done on it, lots of things to do :)  We're also getting close to releasing three projects, so it's super-busy around here right now...

Hopefully we can get everyone on the beta soon...

    Very interesting peice of software.

I have been looking for a long time for software that will allow my WiFi enabled PDA to control my PC and display system information on it.

Hope everything turns out well with this one.
