Controlthink is just nice first step - it needs much improvement to become intuitive and user friendly

    1) How can I clean my network from long removed/broken/replaced modules which are still shown in my network. It prolongs the response time and signals "not successful". This feature is absolutely essential for maintaining the heath of the network.

    2) ControlThink SW needs to be cleared of numerous bugs, such as
    - exception errors,
    - wrong module icons shown - switch icon instead of wall receptacle,
    - sometimes pictures /icons in Settings do not show until reboot numerous times,
    - brightness level not accurate - percentage number would help, brightness scale next to icon does not match the brightness slide display, etc.

    3) I also would like to be able to switch the roles of Master Controller between HA07 and USB stick at my will. HA07 for signing in new modules around the house, then USB stick for normal off-computer operations.

    4) Enable moving the house/rooms drawing, drag and drop, drag resizing - current way is not intuitive at all, rather very cumbersome.

Sorry if too many comments, but I think you have huge potential, it just have to be more human. The ultimate test is WAF.

Keep up your good work, you can make great product out of it.

     Regards, George

    george7g,

Thanks for your post.  Let me help answer all your questions here really quick:

    1. If your computer is "primary controller" in the network, you can remove those bad devices by right-clicking on their icons and selecting "remove broken device."  If it is secondary, you'll need to make it Primary.  Sorry, that's how Z-Wave works--although we do have a partial improvement coming in a future ThinkEssentials update for that situation...

    2. Could you please submit more details on these to us at "support AT controlthink DOT com"?  The software should be pretty bug-free, and we're trying to stamp out any lingering issues from the old 1.x codebase--so I'd really appreciate the bug reports.  Please, if you can, submit one issue per e-mail, and attach screenshots if you have them.

    3. More on this as it becomes available...

    4. We're working on some improvements here.  We have a new "resize and move" function in the works...  More info on that as it becomes available...

Thanks for being a customer, and the great feedback!

    Chris

    Hi Chris

Being a new user I'm still finding my way arounf the software but George7g raises a very good point about accurate reporting of the brightness level. The ability to set and recall the percentage brigtness for a device that can be dimmed would be a very powerful feature. This opens the door for a variety of applications where a light source's level is accurately changed over time rather than messing with sliders.

Is there any update on this.

    Thanks again.
