Vizia RF Scene & Zone Controllers

I have a 12 node Vizia RF Network that I programmed with Levitons Vizia RF Programmer.  I have added Think Essentials as a controller and can now see all of the nodes.  The 4 button scene and zone controllers come up in TE with a big question mark on them.  How do I get access to my Vizia RF created areas and 4 button controllers from TE?

    HI KimG,

We're working on a free update to ThinkEssentials 2.0 which will let you program zones/scenes in the Vizia RF controllers.  Were you wanting to copy the scenes/zones from the controllers _to_ ThinkEssentials instead?

For migration purposes, it should go either way. Import controller settings from wall controller to TE as well as export settings from TE to wall controller.

Also, it would be nice to do this on an individual contoller basis to aid in evolution. I have multiple controllers and don't want to muck up the "working" controllers as I experiment with TE on the "new" controller. It's OK if import works on all controllers as long as I can selectively update individual controllers. Once I understand how TE works for this an update all controllers feature would be convenient.

I would really love it if I could program scenes on Scene controllers without having to run around to every dimmer.

It would also be really nice if TE could emit a configuration database (XML file) with everything it knows about the network (static config as well as current state). This would go a long way to helping folks debug things (files could be posted). It also helps documenting the world and we can write various post processing tools to make it pretty.

I'm having trouble including my Vizia Scene Controller into the network are there any tricks? Also I created a lot of scenes in TE and tried to transfer over to the Vizia remote but none of the scenes showed up just devices. Any suggestions?

    bavi801,

ThinkEssentials 2.0 doesn't have the feature which lets you set up the scenes in the Vizia in-wall controllers.  We're working on this feature, and will be providing it as a no-charge update in the near future.

    Chris,

Is that true of all scene controllers or just Vizia?

    Steve,

Yes, scene controller support will be a new feature.  Many of them are programmed differently behind the scenes, and we're trying to support as many as possible...
