    Sunset Not Working

I have a zone set for my living room which turns on the lights at Sunset and then off at 11:30pm.  Unfortunatly I am finding that the lights are not going on during sunset, I've even waited up to an hour for it to happen in case the time was off a bit.

    Townshend,

When you go to the Settings tab, and click on "change location", what time does it show you for sunset?

Also, does it work intermittently?  All the devices when it does work?  Only some of the devices all the time?  Never works?

Also, could you watch the software tomorrow at "sunset" time and see if you get white circles around the devices?  It may be that there's something wrong with the sunset timer, and it may be an issue with "getting the message through."

There it is, I wasn't sure where to determine what time the software thought Sunset was.  It shows 6:41:51PM and I'm located in Chicago.  I'll keep an eye on it tomorrow when it is supposed to go off to see if I get white circles.  When it is supposed to go no lights come on.  It worked for the first few days, but after that nothing.  I'll update you tomorrow.  Thanks!

I tested it out today and nothing happened.  I did not see any white circles around the devices when sunset hit.  Anything else you would like me to test or look into?

    Two more things:

    1. Do you have any other timers set up?  Are they working properly?  In other words, is the issue limited to just sunrise/sunset timers?

    2. Tomorrow, could you please reboot the computer and start up the software, and let me know if the timers start working again?

    1. The only other timer is to turn off the lights, which do work properly.

    2. I will try this.

    Thanks,

    Walter

    Chris,

Had the exact same problem and opened case #CT156 on 9/24. Mine was not intermittent at all, it never worked on sunset. I changed the time (and only the time) and the same scheduled event started firing.

I will try to catch the the screen at sunset to see if it is trying to fire.

I have not tried any sunrise events.

    Walter, Jim:

Could you both e-mail me your location (city, state) and at least one or two days where the software did not activate the sunset timers--and then we'll try to reproduce it here on another computer?

There's a pretty amazing amount of math going on behind the scenes, and while it would seem that if the time shows properly in the "choose location" link it should work everywhere, there could be a disconnect for some locations...

I am in Chicago, IL, specifically Hoffman Estates, IL.  Every day this week it has failed to work (though as I mentioned above turning off the lights works just fine).  I could try changing location in the program too to see if it may have any effect.

I tried it by saying I was located in NYC and it worked.  When I switched it back to saying I was in Chicago nothing happens.  So it looks like it may be just one or a few cities this problem effects?

Has there been any update on this issue?

    Re: Sunset Not Working

We found two bugs in builds 199 regarding location and sunrise/sunset timers.  Both have been fixed in build 200, which I will be posting within a few days.

I tested the old software and the new software and was able to reproduce the problem consistently with the old versions but could not reproduce it with the new build.

NOTE: please change the location in your software to a city that is not yours, and then change it back to your city.  You can find the current location on the Settings tab under "Change location."

Please let me know if this bug is fixed in build 200 for you.  Thanks!

Awesome, I look forward to testing this out.  Will let you know how it works the next couple days.

    Chris,

It looks like we have success!  Everything came on at Sunset on Chicago time that needed to come on today under build 200.  I will let you know if things change.

    Best,

    Walter
