Cant activate my Thinkessentials

hi,

i lost my cd but i still have my license key, the number is like xxxx-xxxx-xxxx . Why cant i activate the program (2.5) that i downloaded from the the forum?

Can controlthink work with the AEON LABS Z-STICK Z-wave USB stick?

Hello, the USB stick from controlthink works only with the US frequency. The AEON LABS Z-STICK Z-wave USB stick works with the EU frequency (868 Mhz). Is it possible to buy the essentialthink software and use it with the aeon labs z-stick?

Just as I promised, I've added support for the Hsm100 device to ControlThink's SDK, and in the process I've developed a small framework for building support for other devices.

Requirements:

ControlThink SDK 1.3 beta 11.
ControlThink USB stick with Firmware 4.27 (others not supported).
SDK License

Support for Schlage Locks

I just purchased a new Schlage lock and was hoping to add its functionality to my development. After looking around a bit it appears it might not be supported? If this is the case can anyone recommend another approach?

Greetings. I recently purchased ThinkEssentials, which I installed from the disc and then immediately updated to version 2.4 (build 4) through the software update function. I'm pretty sure that I saw reference to scheduling in the first version I installed, but it's completely absent now, both on the Settings page and when I right-click on an area or scene. I even re-entered my license key, but to no avail. I can't find the Modify Schedule option anywhere. Please advise. Thanks, Bill

TE with HomeSettings HA07

Greetings, and apologies in advance if this has already been answered somewhere, but I couldn't find anything current.

I'm using TE 2.5 as my primary controller and have added the HA07 as a secondary controller, which leads me to a few questions:

1. Is the correct way to add the HA07 to the network to press Include Device in TE and the INCLUDE (COPY) > Channel 1 OFF/DIM (RA) sequence in the HA07?

2. Am I correct that the above process adds the controller to TE and copies the network devices to the HA07 but does not include any "channel" information that the HA07 can use?

3. Is there a way to automatically program the channel buttons in the HA07, or do I have to hand-program the HA07 buttons by visiting each device and programming each button in LEARN mode?

4. After I make a network change in TE and need to update the HA07, is there any way to prevent the update from wiping out my hand-entered channel information in the HA07? I tried the Channel 2 OFF/DIM variation of the include process noted above, which is supposed to update only network information and not channels, but the buttons on the HAO7 stop working nevertheless.

5. Finally, if I add another HomeSettings controller can they update each other, or only if one of them were the primary controller?

Any clarification, advice, or insights you could offer would be most appreciated.

I'm a software developer and working on home auto. system company, I want to know if I use ControlThink SDK to write my software program, of course I will sell my software to any home consumer, Do I or my client have to pay any fee to ControlThink ?

If so, I have to report my manager and consider that do we still use SDK or not?

Windows 7 64-Bit and ThinkEssentials 2.4

I just received ThinkEssentials 2.1 in the mail and upgraded to 2.4 on a Win 7 64-bit machine. When I start ThinkEssentials, it immediately stops responding and crashes. Does ThinkEssentials work on 64-bit Windows 7? If so, are there any gotchas that could be causing this behavior?

Bit of a desperate plea: Events not being triggered

Hi All

I'm not sure if anyone is actually out there but here goes....

As of this evening, all events configured in ControlThink relative to Dusk are not being executed. Events with a fixed time are working perfectly. I've tried this across 2.4 and 2.5 release of code and teh behavior remains the same.

Is anyone else seeing something similar?

I just received the Thinkessentioals 2.1 and the ha22 usb stick. I load the program and when I put the stick in when it requests it, the system looks for drivers and comes back to tell me there are no drivers and it can not interface to the program (no stick found). When I go to control panel you see the stick with a question mark? What do I do next

I do not have any problem including the controller itself, but i can not find how to include the local switch into the network. When you right click the controller it does not show the modify scenes option. Please help!

Leviton 4 scene contoller

I am using ThinkEssentials 2.1 to set up a Vizia system, everything went great until I tried to add the individual buttons on a Leviton 4 scene controller, I must be doing something wrong, the controller included ok, just can't add the buttons.

Purchased open box USB from fry's without cd & key

This was the only one they had left for windows so I got the open box item not knowing the cd was missing. I called fry and they can't do anything but take it back and probably sell it to someone else as open box. So I figure if I can get a key from the manufacturer after proof of purchase, I have my receipt and can take pics of the open box sticker and email it or whatever. Seeing as they don't Have anymore in stock I guess I will get the sledge link system instead if I get no help here.

I purchased from an US Internet site the USB controller CTZUS-1EU WD333339 Rev.A Serial Number 18D with the impression I could download a free ControlThink software to control it.

I thought the free software was ThinkEssentials but it is wrong because after downloading the version 2.4, when starting, the software require a License Key that I did not receive.

1- Please confirm that I must buy now the Software and let me know if from Europe, France, I can get the software only, I have already the USB CTZUS-1EU controller.

2- If I have to spend money on the software, let me know if it control the ACT HomePro ZCS201 RS232 Interface or if it only support USB Device and Mainly from Leviton family.

3- What is the interest for me of Zwave PC SDK software for me

4- If the Zwave PC SDK software has a practical interest in my situation, please confirm that I must load the version 1.2 them them the V1.3 to have the latest version available today.

5- When I have downloaded your latest SDK software, in which directroy should I put it.

Use of HSM100

Hello, I just purchased the SDK and am looking for HSM100 compatibility. I can currently get a Level back and parameters 0 to 6 and 200 to 207 seem to be available and contain some arbitrary data, but only when the device is not in standby. The device can be woken up by a button press on the unit and goes into standby 10 minutes later.

When the device is in standby it doesn't respond to queries, but it still sends preriodic updates on the state of the 4 sensors. I know this because I can see the light blink on the USB adapter and the HomeSeer software can see these updates.

I do NOT see these sensor updates coming back as successive level change events, or any other form of events, as I would expect. Will this be fixed, or am I doing something wrong?

I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 and in the process lost my license key to the Pro version of ThinkEssentials. I bought my copy of Pro back in 7/30/2008. I still have the receipt. How do I find out what my Key was? I have my keys for the SDK and the standard version which I bought in 2009.

Thermostat Support?

I have an RCS TZ-16 Z-wave thermostat, and a Home Pro TT000 thermostat connected to my network. I'm running TE 2.5 build 2. I've been using TE for several years. Neither thermostat is controllable by TE - all I can do is see temp. Right clicking on them gives me properties, view signal strength,rename and optimize, but no control over temp or operation.

I've had to keep an older Hawking Z-wave controller around as a secondary controller because it CAN control these devices. I find nothing on the forum or user guide that tells me that these devices wouldn't work.

Is this cockpit error on my part, or are these z-wave devices somehow incompatible with TE? Why do they work with the Hawking device?

Anyway, I was interested in the ThinkStick due to the SDK. Am I to understand that the SDK is no longer available for license? If I purchase a ThinkStick, will I be able to use version 1.3 of the SDK for a hobbyist implementation? Also, does the thinkstick have x64 drivers? Thanks.

The Kwikset Locks (http://www.kwikset.com/wirelesslocks/partners.aspx) say they work with HomeConnect and briefly mention zwave on their site. I'm not familiar with how HomeConnect and z-wave integrate though. Will I be able to poll the status of my lock and remotely lock it using the SDK?

What Controller

What controller is a good controller to use for setting up my system? I presume that it will be one that is compatible with this installer tool remote back up/restore. i also presume that it is one that will be able to hand master control back and forth between TE and it. My system is on a desktop and it is not convienient to move the thinkstick to within 3' of a device for joining or updating. I'd like a hand controller that can do this. I have one of the original Vizia RF controller, but do not think it is compatible with 2 way master swapping and back-up/restore. Is the newer Vizia RF+ remote the one for me? Are there others I should consider? Thanks, pete

I received an error message today, in Think Essentials that said my hand held remote needed a firmware upgrade. According to Leviton I need a Leviton USB stick (CT ZUS--1US). I do not have such a device I only have my Think Stick.
